We must ‘remember the poor’ - (Galatians 2:10)

The Umoja Sewing Project,
headed by Lillian Mukidi, seeks to empower poor and
refugee women in our community, to restore their dignity through training, and aims to provide income-generating activities to create a
sustainable means of living – equipping them with new skills that they can turn into business opportunities.
We do this by providing training in the skill of cutting and
sewing different patterns, using electrical
sewing machines, and
developing income-generating activities that provide trainees with ways of making money while in training – so that they may be able to provide for their basic needs and become
financially independent.
