Finding out that you are pregnant when you didn't plan to be, can be a terrifying experience. For many women and teenagers, abortion seems like the quickest and easiest solution as it's relatively easy to get. What these women and teenagers often don't know, and may not be told, is that there are serious risks attached to abortion. They often imagine that at eight weeks their baby is just a 'clump of cells' whereas the reality is that the baby has shape and form, a beating heart, and everything that is found in a fully developed adult.

At Jubilee Health Centre we offer free counselling to anyone who finds herself with an unplanned pregnancy. Our counselling is non-directive, providing information, support and compassion. It is the woman (or girl) who makes the final decision. Very often that's all it takes to help someone through a really difficult patch and make a good choice for their life.

We also provide after-abortion counselling for those who made that choice and are now experiencing difficulties, and HIV testing and counselling is offered to all our clients.
